if Agnes was truly a western character she wouldn't be slicing off those bread crusts

i think Agnes take off those crusts because she's also cooking for her japanese youkai companions.
Even in Japan, the public would only ate the white bread instead on the edges!
By the way, i felt the same feelings when Agnes shed some tears due to some of the words got straight to her heart & she felt very painful to bear it
